Ottawa, Ontario -- The True Sport Foundation (TSF) reminds the Canadian sport community that the nomination period for the 33rd Annual Canadian Sport Awards (CSA) ends in just four weeks. The Awards will take place at the end of March 2006 and will celebrate the heroes that live within Canadian sport.

  • Athletic Performance Awards celebrate outstanding athletic performance in 2005.
  • Leadership Awards recognize an individual’s outstanding contribution to the betterment of sport.
  • Corporate Excellence Awards recognize corporations that provide outstanding support to Canadian sport.
  • The Spirit of Sport Story of the Year Award celebrates a Canadian hero who, in the pursuit of sporting excellence, has demonstrated spirit of sport values.
  • The Bell True Sport Community Award honours the role of sport in strengthening communities.

Nomination Eligibility
Any Canadian citizen can nominate an individual, team, community or corporation for the Canadian Sport Awards. Individuals and corporations can also self-nominate. Eligible entries are for performances or contributions from January 1, 2005 through to December 31, 2005.

Deadline
Nominations must be submitted on the online nomination form no later than 5:00 p.m. E.S.T., Friday, January 13, 2006.  Late submissions will not be accepted.
