Give-Back Challenge!!!

Have you unleashed the power of True Sport in your community since last year’s Sports Day in Canada celebrations? If so, you could

be featured on CBC leading up to and/or during the 2011 Sports Day in Canada broadcast

AND

earn a cash award of $2,500, $5,000 or $7,500 to help your group or sport organization to continue to live the True Sport Principles.

The True Sport Community Give-Back Challenge provides True Sport Members with an opportunity to give back to their communities by volunteering their time or hosting an event and donating the proceeds to a local charity or cause. Select participants and finalists will be profiled on CBC Sports and the winner will be announced during the Sports Day in Canada broadcast on CBC Sports on September 17, 2011.

Any event or activity hosted after September 19, 2010 or that will take place before September 18, 2011 is eligible to participate in the True Sport Community Give-Back Challenge.

Sports Day in Canada is a national celebration of sport, from grassroots to high performance, in communities across the country. Presented by CBC Sports, ParticipACTION and True Sport, Sports Day in Canada is an opportunity for all Canadians to celebrate the power of sport to build communities.

It’s easy to participate:

Register your True Sport Community Give Back Challenge event at www.cbc.ca/sports/sportsday by completing the Sports Day in Canada event registration form.

Be sure to select the box indicating that you are participating in the True Sport Community Give-Back Challenge.

Capture the story of how you made a difference in your community through pictures and videos during your event or activity.
Submit your True Sport Community Give-Back Story (in writing, through photos or by uploading a video) no later than August 31, 2011* to be eligible for an award. Log into your account at www.cbc.ca/sports/sportsday, any time after July 8to submit your story.

*CBC Sports will profile select True Sport Give-Back Challenge events in July and August so be sure to submit your story as early as possible.
