True Sport Foundation is committed to ensuring that sport makes a positive contribution to Canadian society, to our athletes and to the physical and moral development of Canada’s youth.

The J.W. McConnell Family Foundation and the True Sport Foundation share a commitment to the values of the True Sport Movement. Both parties believe that innovative sport and recreation initiatives have the potential not only to improve the health and well-being of individuals but also to foster leadership and social networks within and among communities. To support communities participating in sport, the True Sport Community Fund, a four year $2.5 million initiative, was created in 2007.
