The True Sport Foundation (TSF) is proud to present the 37th Canadian Sport Awards which will take place in Toronto (location TBD) early March 2010.

The Canadian Sport Awards (CSA) is the ultimate recognition event for excellence in Canadian sport. This annual event which recognizes achievement in Canadian sport is the best opportunity to honour our amateur athletes.   The event promotes sporting excellence across Canada, and reminds Canadians how sport lifts the human spirit. It is a tribute to the hard work, the dedication and the victories of our country’s finest athletes. The CSA honours the true champions of sport: athletes, coaches, volunteers, leaders, inspired youth, and more.

This 37-year-old tradition will also include a community outreach element designed to engage school children to the values of sport. The True Sport Road Trip will visit local school(s) to examine issues and challenges specific to each school.  Athletes will read, play and inform the kids of the importance of sport at any level of engagement. School children will meet some of Canada’s role models who have distinguished themselves through their participation in sport.

The sport community is invited to nominate athletes and persons for the Junior Athlete of the Year, Leadership Awards (Leadership in Sport, Athlete Leadership and Volunteer Achievement), Corporate Excellence Award and the Spirit of Sport Story of the Year.  The TSF will rank the three finalists in the Athlete Performance Awards (Male/Female Athlete of the Year, Team of the Year and Partners of the Year) from the top eight results published by Sport Canada.
