On Friday November 19, 2010 , the 38th Canadian Sport Awards (CSA), brought to you by Sport Canada and the True Sport Foundation, will once again honour sport leaders who represent the pinnacle of commitment and competition: Canadian amateur athletes, coaches, sport leaders and volunteers.
This annual event which recognizes achievement in Canadian sport is the best opportunity to honour our amateur athletes. The event promotes sporting excellence across Canada, and reminds Canadians how sport lifts the human spirit. It is a tribute to the hard work, the dedication and the victories of our country’s finest athletes.
Event Date: November 19, 2010
Location: Ottawa, Ontario
Event Itinerary:
9:00 – 11:30am True Sport Road Trip
Public School (TBD)
Each year the True Sport Foundation manages the awards program in conjunction with the True Sport Road Trip (TSRT). The TSRT is designed to engage and inspire school-aged children in sport. The Foundation organizes a community outreach effort in the host city of the Canadian Sport Awards, taking athletes to a community school and exposing students to the positive accomplishments and empowering stories of some of Canada’s top amateur athletic heroes. The TSRT encourages the students to practice value based and participate in value driven sport. Annually, the CSA finalists (attending athletes) spend a few hours at the school to read, play and talk with students to demonstrate how sport can lift the human spirit and to encourage them to follow their own dreams.
