True Sport Foundation is committed to ensuring that sport makes a positive contribution to Canadian society, to our athletes and to the physical and moral development of Canada’s youth.
Who Are We?
The True Sport Foundation is a national charitable organization that promotes values-driven sport. As a leader in the True Sport Movement , the Foundation is focused on building and enriching communities and the lives of individuals by providing a safe, welcoming and rewarding environment for all participants, at all levels of sport.
The True Sport Foundation is committed to ensuring that sport makes a positive contribution to Canadian society, to our athletes and to the physical and moral development of Canada's youth.
The Foundation also plays a pivotal role in the Canadian sport system by bringing together leading sport organizations to promote, celebrate and recognize sporting excellence.
Together, these sport leaders guide the Foundation’s activities:
The True Sport Foundation helps to incubate new ideas and initiatives to promote values-driven sport and to better fulfill sport’s contribution to social objectives. This includes the Foundation’s work with the Sport Matters Group, with Community Animators for True Sport and helping sport organizations to provide good sport at the community level.
The True Sport Foundation helps create True Sport partnerships and provide a common place for others who wish to promote sport as one of our country’s important community public assets, not unlike other public assets such as education, health care, security and a clean environment.
The True Sport Foundation helps its True Sport partners and collaborators by operating Funds for the receipt and disbursement of financial resources for specific purposes in the True Sport Movement. The Foundation looks for ways to leverage these collaborations to increase resources, other contributions and partnerships in the Movement.
The True Sport Foundation helps to showcase values-driven sport to Canadians, primarily through the Canadian Sport Awards and the Canadian Sport Week.
