2007 Phase One Recipients
Bell Canada, in partnership with the True Sport Foundation, announced the initial group of grant recipients of the Bell Community Sport Fund. The Fund awarded forty-five (45) communities with $5,000 grants. An additional nine (9) communities received grants of $25,000 each for projects that showed legacy potential.
More than 550 applications were received before the April 30th deadline.
$25,000 Recipients
The Bell Community Sport Fund awarded $25,000 grants to the following communities:
| Hugo Ray Park Society(West Vancouver, BC) | The grant will create new field hockey facilities and resurface existing fields to increase program capacity. |

The grant will subsidize program fees for basketball, soccer and floor hockey programs targeted at disadvantaged youth. |

Boys and Girls Clubs of Calgary (Calgary, AB) |
The grant will establish a free basketball league for at-risk youth. |
| Stars Sports Association (Okotoks, AB) | The grant will increase access to basketball for rural and disadvantaged youth by funding portable equipment. |
| Association Sportive Monteuil (Laval, QC) | The grant will address a growing need for safe playing fields by helping fund new soccer facilities. |

1v1 Support |
The grant will provide at-risk youth with access to free soccer skill development programs. |

East Ottawa Generals Football Club |
The grant will allow the club to purchase equipment and make football more accessible to youth. |

Youth Unlimited - |
The grant will increase accessibility and participation among at-risk youth in floor hockey, soccer, basketball and volleyball leagues by subsidizing operating and equipment costs. |
| College Avenue Secondary School (Woodstock, ON) | The grant will help replace the school's gym floor to create a safe playing surface for school sports. |
